What an amazing Saturday it was!! It was my first time ever going to and selling in an UpMarket. I did not know what to expect but I had a grand time. When we first arrived we had to find a parking spot to offload. I went on ahead to look for the UpMarket Coordinator, Ms Janet Bloom Fabres. I actually asked a vendor for her because I never met her in person. A very nice lady took my name and led me to a table to the back. I did not mind because I knew we were already late to set up. However, we did so in a couple of minutes. In less than a half hour, a lady approached our table. She was also a vendor right opposite me, Gloria Lewis is her name. She specializes in Cake and Household Decorating. Look below for contact information. By the way her boot was the most beautiful I must say. Lovely christmas decorations, wreathes, magnetic ornaments and she does it all by hand. Firstly, I must say I was
tremendously blown away by the amount of amazing talent Trinidad and Tobago has. The cultural, family relaxed atmosphere was amazing. People were really friendly, I felt as though I was selling there for years. Soooo, this lady came up to our table and she was like, "I'm smelling your soaps from all the way over there, it smells good. What else are you selling?" That was it, she bought two bags of my potpourri's. It was my first sale. The day went on like that with a steady flow of customers, who did it...GOD DID IT!!! There were persons right next to us who did not even make a sale for the day; but I knew in my heart it was GOD and no one else. The cupsoaps were a hit! People thought they were real cupcakes! One guy from venezuela couldn't believe it he asked me
if he can take a picture. I think it was the overwhelming response from
the customers that sealed it for me. They loved my product, and I loved that they loved it. Yes, there were other soap vendors there who mind you did an excellent job. I even bought a slice from a lady. Talented people, talented. There were two guys who did lovely jewerly, Nick was totally blown away by them. Vendors from all walks of life, food, jewerly,
handbags, leather bags, fridge handles, you name it this UpMarket got it! It was a wonderful first time experience. Handmade Soaps and Beauty Supplies by Masika will be there on the 7th, 15th and 21st of December. Don't forget to order and collect on the day. I want to especially thank the borrow family for passing and giving there support :). Thanks to my mother in law and my husband nick for there hard work. To my sister Mashama for babysitting :). Thanks to my mom who called early the morning and prayed a pray for me. Love you guys. See you soon.
